Have I told you how much I LOVE my geraniums, well I do! These little darlings started life out in my very first home in Truckee, my husband built the house and it was fabulous, to this day I wish I still lived there!anyway back to the story.....shortly after we moved in I lost both of my dear dear grandparents, at the time the were living with my parents, my mom needed a little get away and she came to stay with us in our new home.
Let me say we didn't have much, not even real heat just our fireplace, If you don't know, Truckee California is often the Cold Spot of Nation, with an average snow fall of 306 inches a year, mind you my old house is only about 20 miles from the home I currently live in I am less than 10 miles from the California State Line.......I'm drifting, stay with me, I had this beautiful bay window that was in front of my kitchen and of course it was empty because we had NO money, so my mom went to the local nursery and purchased geraniums, they were so bright and cheery just what the window needed.....
They brought so much cheer to my little kitchen that they made me think of my grandparents, to this day they are still with me.....can you believe that they are almost 29 years old, they will be this May!
I have become somewhat of an expert on them, they have been transplanted, new pots, more soil, trimmed, fed and watered all these years! They are blooming brilliantly in my kitchen window today even though it has been dreary and cold for days, They continue to be a loving reminder.......
