I Heart This........

 

Yes I do, I heart this sweet little camera....the size, the color, the vintagyness of it, even the price is good, and you can get it here  urban outfitters I think it has so much more personality then our standard digital cameras, don't you! 

There are such pretty reproduction things today that are really hard to tell they were not from that area, I love the companies are picking up on the love of this look, I don't know if a camera can be romantic but to me, this one definitely is!

One of these cuties is in my future.......

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Yes our first snow in the Truckee Meadows happened today! It was so pretty coming down in HUGE flakes, making everything all white! I love the first snow, it feels like winter now, it feels like Christmas time is coming, I don't listen to Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving just on principal! There is a station here in town already playing Christmas music all day everyday until New Years! We had very high winds today over 100 hundred miles per hour on the peaks, several major roads closed due to poor visibility! I stayed home all cozy, cooking, nesting all that good stuff! I cooked for a party tonight that some of my friends were having and they asked me to help out.....It was fun just staying home creating delicious appetizers to share!

I will be busy this weekend painting furniture to replenish my booth at Junkee, I have sold out completely, I'm not complaining mind you, I love that it is all gone, it's just sometimes it's hard to find just the right thing to put in there, I did find a darling dresser and matching nightstand that I am excited to do up! I will be concentrating on getting those down there and getting some fun holiday decorations up in the booth!

I can't wait to transform 41 Taylor into a wintry lounge,I am going to keep it simple with glittered pink poinsettia's and white lights......with all the gilded mirrors and beautiful lighting I think it will be magical, I have a great handy man that will hang lights out on the front of house, I will show pictures as soon as it is all finished up!

Something So Romantic........

There is just something so romantic about vintage chandeliers, this one is in my bedroom centered in the middle of our bed towards the bottom, every night and every morning I get to see it as I am feeling sleepy or waking just as the light is peeking through the curtains. the light and shadows they cast, the sparkling crystals, I love everything about this one, especially since it came from a darling old home in a section of Sacramento called the fabulous 40's the numbered streets in that particular neighborhood have the most charming homes! Well my sister happened to live in one, and when I saw it for the first time I said "Shan if you ever move I want that chandelier" she did eventually end up moving to an equally charming older home in a fabulous vintage area of Sacramento and yes She kept her word and gave me the chandelier!I have adored it ever since......thought I would share with you!
